Odisha: ‘Misbehaviour’ Slur On Bargarh Collector Monisha Banerjee
Bargarh: The Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) of Bargarh, Charubala Rath, has accused collector Monisha Banerjee of misbehaving with her over a tender work.
The CDMO has sought appropriate action against her and also her transfer.
In a letter to the Health and Family Welfare Secretary, Rath said she received a call from the collector while on her way to Bhima Bhoi health camp in Bargarh on February 21. “Collector madam asked me about the status of techno-managerial tender. Since I have joined recently, I said the process for the tender was underway and I would update her after consulting district project manager (DPM). She immediately spoke to me in a high-pitched voice, which I have been facing repeatedly after joining here,” alleged the CDMO.
The collector asked Rath why was she holding the CDMO chair when she did not not know anything. “I told her that I did not come to Bargarh on my own but was sent here as per the government order. She then asked me to give in writing that I didn’t know anything.”
The CDMO has also sent copies of the letter to the President, Odisha Medical Services Association (OMSA), Bargarh chapter and the Director of Health Services, Odisha.
Banerjee said that she as not read the letter but had nothing against the CDMO. “I have not seen that letter. It has not been marked to me,” she added.
