New Delhi: Ahead of the main Oscars 2023 event, RRR is set to rerelease in theatres in Los Angeles. The screening has gone housefull with more than 1600 tickets sold. RRR has emerged as one of the biggest hits in India as well as the West! The period action drama has been directed by SS Rajamouli. This was his first release after Baahubali 2 (2017), which was also a huge success.
The song, Naatu Naatu from the film, won the prestigious Golden Globes 2023 in the Best Original Song category The song is also in the running to secure an Oscar award. RRR garnered several US awards, made it to the BAFTA 2023 longlist in the Film Not in the English Language category, won the Golden Globes in the Best Original Song category, and also bagged the Best Song at the 28th edition of the Critics Choice Awards, along with Best Foreign Language Film, among others. RRR is also among the shortlisted in the Best Original Song category for Oscars 2023.
Just a few days before the 95th Academy Awards, RRR is set to rerelease in theatres in Los Angeles. Taking to the official Twitter handle of RRR, the makers announced, “Tomorrow, Los Angeles will witness the world’s largest RRR Movie screening yet. The 1647-seat show is already sold out, and SS Rajamouli MM Keeravaani and Ram Charan will be participating in a Q and A session (sic).”
