From Priyanka Chopra To Sushmita Sen, Indian Actresses Who Had A Nose & Lip Job Done

New Delhi: Many moons ago, there was an article in which veteran actress Mumtaz revealed how leading actors of the time refused roles with her due to her unconventional nose. This forced her to take up roles as a supporting actress and she was very often cast opposite Dara Singh. That she went on to become a leading actress of her time is another story. The point here is, in those days, there was nothing like plastic surgery available to heroines to enhance their looks whereas today, every other actress has got a nose or a lips job done.

Here are some Bollywood actresses who went under the knife:

Priyanka Chopra

She was made conscious of her looks by a demanding industry very early in her career and has not shied away from sharing the trauma she faced because of the comments on her complexion and features. Priyanka Chopra shared about her nose surgery in her autobiography ‘Unfinished.’ She said that something went wrong during her nose surgery; and with this, her look had completely changed. Priyanka has also shared how her nasal cavity surgery had given her and her mother a lot of anxiety.

“While shaving off the polyp, the doctor accidentally shaved the bridge of my nose and the bridge collapsed. When it was time to remove the bandages and the condition of my nose was revealed, Mom and I were horrified. My original nose was gone. My face looked completely different. I wasn’t me anymore.” Priyanka also added, “I felt devastated and hopeless. Every time I looked in the mirror, a stranger looked back at me, and I didn’t think my sense of self or my self-esteem would ever recover from the blow.”

Priyanka also revealed that she had to undergo many corrective surgeries for her nose thereafter, and has now made peace with the “slightly different version of her”.

Anushka Sharma

Anushka Sharma, who made her debut in ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ in 2008, admitted that she underwent lip surgery and revealed that people trolled her badly. According to her, she was required to do it for her role in ‘Bombay Velvet’. Although it changed her look completely, the lip job was quite prominent in both Bombay Velvet and PK.

Shilpa Shetty

Shilpa Shetty has worked hard to be where she is today. She’s almost unrecognisable in her earlier photos. The actress has undergone several surgeries, including lip and nose jobs. The actress once revealed that she needed to make some changes to her appearance in order to make herself a well-established actress in Bollywood.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

This epitome of beauty also gave into the demands of stardom even though she did the country proud by winning the 1994 Miss World crown. She has never admitted it in public but according to rumours, she had cheek implants and got her jawline and teeth repaired.

Katrina Kaif

Though she didn’t need to, Katrina Kaif also underwent plastic surgery to put on some botox and lip fillers, changing her look completely.

Kangana Ranaut

Although Kangana Ranaut has always flaunted her flaws like scars, she has made no bones about her plastic surgeries and hair transplants, which make her look great.

Sushmita Sen

Another beauty queen, idolised by many for her unconventional attitude towards life, her many affairs, choice of films and now heart attack, the actress has gone through a series of surgeries, including a lip job, a nose job, cheek implants, etc.

Shruti Haasan

This light-eyed daughter of Kamal Haasan and Sarika, has always been open about undergoing plastic surgeries and has defended her decision to go under the knife.
