Court Notice To Odisha LoP In Driver Murder Case! Know What Jayanarayan Mishra Says

Bhubaneswar: Trouble is likely to mount for BJP stalwart and Leader of Opposition (LoP) Jaynarayan Mishra as a Bhubaneswar court reportedly issued him a notice to depose before it on March 17 in connection with a murder case.

Besides, 12 other accused in the case have also been asked to appear in the court of the additional sessions judge on the same day, sources said.

Notably, Dileswar Sahu, a driver of the then Minister Sushant Singh’s brother, had died in a firing incident that had taken place at Sohela in Bargarh district on February 22 night, 2018, just two days before the Bijepur bypoll.

Mishra was one of the accused in an FIR filed in connection with the murder case. Police had arrested him along with some other accused in the case. Mishra was later released from jail after getting a conditional bail from the High Court.

However, a person identified as Bimal Bhue, accusing Mishra of violating the HC bail conditions, had filed a case at the Bhubaneswar Court, which will hold the hearing of the case on March 17.

On the other hand, Jaynararayan Mishra denied having received any court notice so far.

He said as per a Supreme Court directive, the cases in which eminent persons are being tried at sessions courts would be tried in special courts.

Now our special court is in Bhubneswar, Mishra said, adding that as per the SC order, the case which was being tried in Bargarh has been shifted to the Bhubaneswar special court. There is nothing new about it.

Similarly, the BJP leader has been an accused in the attack on the Jharbandh IIC in Paikamal block in 2010. The court will hold the hearing of the case on March 23.
