Bhubaneswar: Leader of Opposition and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Jayanarayan Mishra on Friday appeared before the Bhubaneswar special ADJ court in connection with the murder case of BJD worker Dileswar Sahu.

Notably, Dileswar Sahu, then working as a driver of the then Minister Sushant Singh’s brother, had died in a firing incident that had taken place at Sohela in Bargarh district on February 22, 2018, just two days before the Bijepur bypoll.

Mishra and 12 others had been arrested by the police following a complaint against them in connection the murder. The Bhubaneswar special ADJ court had served notices to Mishra and 12 others accused in the murder case to appear before it on March 17.

Mishra was later released from jail after getting a conditional bail from the High Court. However, a person identified as Bimal Bhue, accusing Mishra of violating the HC bail conditions, had filed a case at the Bhubaneswar Court.

Similarly, the BJP leader has been an accused in the attack on the Jharbandh IIC in Paikamal block in 2010. The court will hold the hearing of the case on March 23.
