Ex-J&K Governor Satyapal Malik Questioned For 5 Hours By CBI
New Delhi: Satya Pal Malik was on Friday questioned by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials for over five hours in connection with his claim that he was offered Rs 300 crore as bribe to clear two files during his stint as Jammu & Kashmir Governor between August 23, 2018 and October 30, 2019, reported India Today.
Recently, the former J & K Governor alleged that he was offered money by RSS and BJP leader Ram Madhav to pass a scheme.
Madhav termed the allegations baseless and filed a defamation case against Malik.
“The CBI has asked me to appear before them as they want to clarify certain things about the case. They have verbally asked me to come on April 27 or April 28 as per my comfort,” Malik had said earlier.
In April 2022, CBI registered two FIRs in connection with corruption allegations by Malik vis-à-vis awarding of contracts for a group medical insurance scheme for government employees and civil work worth Rs 2,200 crore related to Kiru hydroelectric power project in the erstwhile state.
