One Held For Ruckus At Bhubaneswar Movie Hall During ‘The Kerala Story’ Screening

Bhubaneswar: A man has been arrested in connection with disturbances during the screening of the much talked about movie The Kerala Story at a cinema hall in Bhubaneswar.

The arrested person has been identified as Rajesh Patnaik. Stated to be a supporter of a particular political party, Rajesh identifies himself as a social worker and digital creater in his social media account.

Sources said Rajesh was arrested for allegedly posting a video of a scene during the disturbance on social media. It showed   someone abusing the manager of the hall, located in a shopping mall, taking the name of his community.

As per information, Rajesh had been to the cinema to watch the movie together with some of his friends on May 5. However, disturbances erupted after the air conditioning system stopped working. Rajesh and his friends allegdly created a ruckus and sought to know as to why the National Anthem was not played before showing the film.

They also shouted against the AC not working and gheraoed the movie hall manager, leading to tension. A video of the scene was posted on social media by Rajesh.

The cinema hall authorities later lodged a complaint with the police based on which a case was registered. After a probe, Rajesh was arrested and forwarded to court.
