Police Arrest 2 Members Of ‘Eragola Gang’ Wanted In Snatching Cases In Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar: The Commissioner Police has arrested two-member ‘Eragola’ gang, which was allegedly involved in several cases of loot and snatching in Bhubaneswar.
Following a series of dicky breaking and mobile snatching cases in the city, the Bhubaneswar Police launched an investigation and arrested the two members of the gang. The arrested persons were identified as M Chakraborty and A Nabin, both belonging to Thengapali village under Aska police station of Ganjam district.
The police seized 8 snatched mobile phones, the motorcycle used in the crime and Rs 1,50,000 from their possession.
These gang members belonging to notorious “Eragola Gang” used to stay in Ganjam and Jajpur districts. They operated in group and used stolen motorcycles for committing the crime.
The duo generally targeted the people going to deposit cash or withdraw cash from banks and kept a watch in front of the banks. When customers came out of the bank with cash bag, the gang members followed them. Taking advantage of lonely stretch, they used to snatch the bags or break open the dickeys or divert the attention of the person by throwing currency notes or coins and snatch away the cash bag.
They also roamed around and snatched costly mobile phones from commuters on road. They shared the looted and sold the snatched mobile phones to different customers.
