Fresh Spell Of Heavy Rain To Lash Odisha From July 3; Check IMD Forecast
Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday predicted fresh spell of heavy rainfall in Odisha on July 3 and July 4.
According to the regional centre, heavy rainfall is likely at one or two places in Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar on July 3. Yellow warning for thunderstorm with lightning has also been issued for some places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada and Kalahandi during this period. Light to moderate rain or thundershower may also occur at many places in coastal Odisha, Kandhamal, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur and at a few places in the remaining parts of the state.
On July 4, heavy rainfall is likely at one or two places in Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Koraput, Bhadrak, Balasore, Jajpur, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar and Dhenkanal. There is also a forecast for light to moderate rain or thundershower in South Odisha, North Coastal Odisha, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, and at many places in rest districts of Odisha.
The Met office further said that many places in South and North Odisha may experience light to moderate rain during the next 48 hours. There is a yellow alert for thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh and Dhenkanal on July 2
Earlier in the day, the IMD had issued yellow warning for light to moderate rain accompanied by thundershower and lightning for some parts of Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Nayagarh, Khurda and Cuttack districts, including twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, till 4 pm.
