Diabetes Diagnosis & Counselling Facility Opened At Bhubaneswar’s Centurion University

Bhubaneswar: A Diabetes Diagnosis and Counselling facility was inaugurated at Centurion University of Technology and Management (CUTM) by Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr) Supriya Pattanayak.

This initiative has been taken in collaboration with Swiss organisation Ypsomed, which conducts services and training on non-communicable diseases under mylife DiabetesCare umbrella.

Post COVID, cases of type 1 diabetes have increased in India.

Centurion University aims to analyse the prevalence of diabetes in Odisha.

The new facility will help diagnose diabetes at an early stage, train people on preventing and counselling them on lifestyle-associated diseases and significance of nutrition in managing health.

CUTM Provost Prof. Radhakanta Padhi, who works at Indian Institute of Science, provided his insights on technology and its implications on diabetes.

Dr Sanjay Rajpal, chief of mylife Diabetes Care for India, spoke about prevention and diagnosis before interacting with the audience in an open house Q & A session.

‘Adventures of Captain Glucose’, written by Prisha Singh — who herself is type 1 diabetic — was circulated as part of learning and training on diabetes.

Prof. SK Jha (Dean, SoPAHS) expressed the vote of thanks to the faculty and to the people who participated in this community reach initiative.
