Police Sub-Inspector Caught Taking Bribe By Odisha Vigilance In Jajpur
Jajpur: A Sub-Inspector of Police was apprehended by Odisha Vigilance sleuths for allegedly accepting Rs 10,000 bribe from a man to help him in a case in Odisha’s Jajpur district on Thursday.
The accused was identified as Nirmal Kumar Senapati, SI of Police at Sukinda Police Station in the district. He was aprehended by Vigilance officials while demanding and accepting bribe Rs 10,000 from a complainant to help him in a case registered earlier, a Vigilance release said.
The entire bribe money has been recovered from the exclusive possession of accused Senapati and seized.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Senapati from Disproportionate Assets angle.
In this connection, a case has been registered and investigation is in progress.
