Odisha: Teddy Bear Found Near Plus II Girl Student With Throat Slit Could Lead To Her Killers

Balangir: While police on Friday intensified investigation into the death of a 15-year-old girl, who was found dead with her throat slit inside her home at Nikhil Nagar slum in Odisha’s Balangir town, sources said that a teddy bear found beside the deceased could prove to be a crucial piece of evidence to identity the killers.

Her parents have denied seeing the doll at their house before she was was found lying in a pool of blood with her face down on Thursday. Police are suspecting that the miscreant first gifted a doll to the girl, identified as Seshadri Nag, before attacking her with sharp weapons. A sniffer dog has been engaged to nab the accused.

Balangir SDPO Tophan Bag earlier told the media that there were injury marks on the back of her neck and forehead. “Preliminary investigation reveals that someone who knew the victim killed her with a sharp object,” Bag added.

The girl prepared breakfast for her parents before they left for work on the fateful day. She was supposed to drop at their workplace with lunch. When she did not turn up, her father Makardhwaj Nag returned home at around 2 pm and found the front door shut. He then entered the house through the back door and found Seshadri lying dead in a pool of blood.

Her father is a mason while her mother works as a sanitation worker. Seshadri had taken admission in a private Plus Two college on Wednesday.
