It may be noted that the government had announced financial incentives for the working journalists on July 6. Information and Public Relation Minister Pratap Jena had announced financial assistance of Rs four lakh to the family of journalists in case of death.

Besides, housing loan at 3% interest upto Rs 25 lakh, four-wheeler loan upto Rs 4 lakh and two-wheeler loan upto Rs 50,000 for the journalists were also announced by the minister.
