President Presents ‘Bhoomi Samman’ Award To Odisha In New Delhi
Bhubaneswar: Odisha was presented “Bhoomi Samman” award as best state in implementing Digital India Land Record Modernisation Programme (DILRMP) of the Central government.
President Droupadi Murmu handed over the award to Satyabrat Sahu, additional chief secretary, Revenue & Disaster Management department in a glittering function held at Vigyaan Bhawan in New Delhi on Tuesday.
Odisha bagged the award as the best state for meeting all the parameters of DILRMP. Of the total 766 districts in the country, 68 districts won platinum award under six different categories. Those included 19 districts of Odisha.
The Odisha districts that bagged the platinum award are Angul, Boudh, Bargarh, Bhadrak, Deogarh, Dhenkanal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Keonjhar, Khurda, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Nayagarh, Nuapada and Sambalpur. The President had presented the award to those districts earlier.
Odisha has emerged as a leading state in digitisation of land records under 5T initiative and Mo Sarkar programme of the state government. The Revenue department has been providing its 34 services online to the people who can submit applications and track those through digital medium.
More than 13,000 land related cases have been resolved through virtual courts in the state. The government aims at extending DILRMP to all districts by March, 2024, stated a release of I&PR department.
