Heavy Rain To Continue In Odisha Till Tomorrow Morning; 212% Excess Downpour Since Sept 1
Bhubaneswar: Heavy rainfall activity will continue in Odisha till Thursday morning with low pressure area over western parts of Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining Jharkhand, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Wednesday.
The weather agency has issued yellow warning of heavy rain for one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar districts. Light to moderate rain or thundershower may also occur at most places in North Coastal Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh and at many places in remaining parts of the state.
There is no heavy rain warning thereafter.
According to the regional centre here, Odisha recorded 212% excess rainfall between September 1 and October 4 with most districts in the state receiving 60% and more rain. Ganjam, Nuapada, Malkangiri and Nabarangpur recorded deficit (-59% to -20%) rain while Gajapti saw large deficit of -60%.
