Very Dense Fog Engulfs Odisha’s Rourkela; Misty Morning In Bhubaneswar & 8 Other Places
Bhubaneswar: Amid the rise in mercury level, Koraput remained the coldest place in Odisha for the second consecutive day with night temperature at 7 degree Celsius, which was 5.7 degrees below normal, the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre informed on Tuesday.
Daringbadi in Kandhamal at 8.5 degree Celsius was the only other place that reported temperature below 10 degree Celsius in the last 24 hours. The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 16.9 and 16.5 degree Celsius respectively, which was 2.3 and 2,7 degrees above normal.
There will be no large change in the night temperature during next 4-5 days, according to the weather agency.
Meanwhile, dense fog continued to disrupt traffic on busy roads and highways in the state. In Rourkela, very dense fog reduced visibility to below 50 metres this morning. Phulbani, Sonepur, Kendrapada and Paradip also witnessed dense fog. Shallow to moderate fog was seen in Bhubaneswar, Koraput, Bhawanipatna, Jharsuguda and Keonjhar.
Notably, the Met office had issued yellow warning of dense fog for one or two places in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Balasore, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sonepur, Boudh, Balangir, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Koraput till 8.30 am on Tuesday.
The same warning continues for one or two places in Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Cuttack, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sonepur, Boudh, Balangir, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Koraput during the subsequent 24 hours.
