BJP Aims To Win All 21 Lok Sabha Seats In Odisha & Get Clear Majority In Assembly: LoP Jayanarayan Mishra
Bhubaneswar: Asserting that the fight against Odisha’s Biju Janata Dal (BJD) government would be intensified from next month, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday said that the party aims to win all the 21 Lok Sabha seats in the state in the coming elections.
This was stated by BJP stalwart and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Odisha Assembly, Jayanarayan Mishra. He was speaking to reporters about the recent meeting between party legislators and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi.
“Our fight will be stepped up from January. We will intensify the fight against the BJD government from next month,” he said, adding that the Prime Minister has given a clear message to the state party leaders ahead of the upcoming polls.
BJP would target the BJD government over issues like opening of Ratna Bhandar of Puri Jagannath Temple, entry of youtuber Kamiya Jani into Srimandir, seizure of huge cash from liquor trader’s premises, Odisha’s backwardness, atrocities against women, and mining scam, Mishra said.
Stating that the organisation would also be further strengthened, the BJP leader said Modi is slated to visit the state in January as part of efforts to bolster the party’s poll prospects.
Referring to selection of candidates for the coming elections, Mishra said winnability, dedication to party and society are among the main criteria for ticket distribution.
BJP’s mission is to win all the 21 Lok Sabha seats in Odisha and form government in the state by securing absolute majority in the Assembly elections, said Mishra.
Notably, Assembly election is also slated to be held in Odisha together with the next Lok Sabha polls due in 2024.
