Cab Driver Stabbed To Death For Not Letting Bikers Overtake In South Delhi

New Delhi: A cab driver in the national Capital paid the ultimate price for not giving space to a bike to overtake in south Delhi’s Mehrauli area.

Manoj Kumar, a resident of Sangam Vihar who worked as a cab driver for a Gurugram-based company, was stabbed to death after on Thursday evening after three bike-borne persons picked up a fight with him over overtaking.

Manoj picked up five employees from Malviya Nagar and was travelling to Mehrauli to pick up another employee when his cab got stuck in a traffic congestion.

The three accused reached the spot around 8.40 pm, and honked away, urging Manoj to give way. Due to lack of enough space, though, Manoj couldn’t let the bike pass.

A fight ensued as the bikers got down and stopped the cab. One among the trio stabbed Manoj in the chest with a knife, before the bikers fled the scene.

Local people took Manoj to the hospital, but he died on the way.

After closely examining CCTV cameras, police identified one of the accused, who is a minor, and apprehended him.

The other two are on the run, but police said they will leave no stone unturned to catch them.
