Khurda: Unable to bear the tragic demise of her husband in a mishap, a woman allegedly died by suicide at a village in Jatani area of Odisha’s Khurda district.
The incident reportedly took place at Nuagaan near Jatani in the district on Sunday night.
As per reports, the deceased woman, identified as Suna Samantray, completely shattered after the death of her husband Dillip Samantray. She allegedly ended her life by hanging herself inside the house on Sunday night, two days after the death of her husband.
Soon after she was found hanging in the room, the woman was rushed to Jatani Community Health Centre (CHC) where doctors declared her brought dead.
Police seized the body for postmortem and started further investigation.
Notably, the woman’s husband Dillip was undergoing treatment at Hi-tech Hospital in Bhubaneswar after being injured in an explosion during gas filling in air conditioner at the same hospital. He died during treatment on Friday.
Dillip, a resident of Bianga village near Jatani, had married Suna of Nuagaan two years ago. After his death, Suna’s family members took the grief-stricken woman to their home at Nuagaan where she took the extreme step.
