Know About 123-Ft-Tall Shiva Statue To Be Inaugurated On Mahashivratri In Odisha
Jajpur: A 123-foot-tall meditative statue of Lord Shiva will be inaugurated on Mahashivratri (March 8) in Odisha’s Jajpur district.
The statue is coming up near Barahanath temple on the banks of Baitarani river as part of the Baraha Khetra development project. It is being constructed by a Delhi-based organisation. The tourists can use a lift to have darshan of the Lord and also enjoy the sky view of the riverfront, the PTI reported, quoting an official involved in the project.
Tourists flock to Dashwamedha Ghat, Baraha Temple, Baruni Ghat, and Maa Biraja Temple in good numbers and the statue of Lord Shiva will be an added attraction for those visiting the culturally-rich district of Jajpur.
This will be the tallest statue in the state. There is a 75 feet Hanuman statue in Rourkela’s Hanuman Batika and a 108 feet Hanuman statue at Damanjodi in Koraput.
