Day Temp Hovers Around Normal Levels In Odisha; Drizzle Likely For 4 Days

Bhubaneswar: The day temperature have been staying close to normal levels in Odisha, the regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Sunday.

And there will be no large change in the maximum and minimum temperatures at many places in the state during the next 4-5 days, according to the midday bulletin.

The weather agency further said that the state is likely to experience light to moderate rain under the influence of an approaching western disturbance. Light to moderate rain/thundershowers may occur at one or two places in Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, and Angul till 8.30 am on Monday. There is a similar forecast for one or two places in Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, and Jajpur during the subsequent 24 hours.

Dry weather is likely to prevail during the next two days and light to moderate rain resume again on March 7 at one or two places in Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Sambalpur, Deogarh, and Mayurbhanj districts and continue till the following day at Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jajpur, and Jagatsinghpur districts.

In the last 24 hours, isolated pockets in the state experienced light rain with the highest of 1.3 mm recorded in Boudh district. Malkangiri was the hottest at 37 degree Celsius followed by Bhubaneswar and Paralakhemundi at 36.8 degree Celsius each. Cuttack recorded 32.5 degree Celsius.

The day temperature in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack is likely to hover around 35-36 degree Celsius during the next 7 days, it added.
