‘Scan To See Scam’ Posters Surface Against BJP; Check What It’s About
Chennai: Creative personnel in political parties are working overtime to devise unique posters and campaigns that will help their candidates go one up against their candidates ahead of voting for the Lok Sabha elections.
Just over a week before the first phase of polling, innovative poster attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Central government and alleging scam has surfaced in Tamil Nadu.
The poster, with ‘Ji PAY’ written at the top, have Modi’s photo and a QR code which reads, “Please scan and see the scam.”
Once the code is scanned, the mobile phone is led to a video where a person is heard explaining the BJP’s alleged corruption through electoral bonds, irregularities highlighted in the CAG report, alleged corruption in various infrastructure projects, etc. It also claimed that loans of big corporates, worth lakhs of crores, have been written off by the BJP government.
The video then appeals voters to reject the BJP and support candidates of the Opposition INDIA bloc.
Though no specific party is mentioned in the posters, it’s widely believed that they were put up by the DMK.
It remains to be seen if these posters invite the wrath of Election Commission of India.
A day before the posters were put up, PM Modi launched a stinging criticism of Tamil Nadu’s ruling DMK party during an election rally in Vellore, alleging that MK Stalin’s party has a monopoly on corruption and engages in divisive politics. Modi also accused DMK and its ally Congress of prioritising family interests over public welfare.
Voting in Tamil Nadu for 39 Lok Sabha seats will take place in a single phase on April 19.
