Fact Check: Have Ananya Panday & Aditya Roy Kapur Broken Up?

Mumbai: Ananya Panday and Aditya Roy Kapur were one of the most talked-about couples of Bollywood in the last few years.

They were seen together at celebrity parties, Michelin Star restaurants, marquee events. The actors also reportedly went on vacations together.

Though neither officially acknowledged their status, it was clear that Ananya and Aditya were in a relationship.

After dating for more than two years, though, they may have parted ways.

The Times of India reported that they broke up almost a month ago, and Ananya is “trying to move on.”

“They broke up almost a month ago. They were going quite strong, and the break-up came as a shock to all of us. They are cordial with each other. Ananya is trying to move on, of course, there’s hurt. She is spending time with her new furry friend. Aditya is also trying to deal with the situation in a mature way,” a close friend of Ananya’s told ToI.

Rumours of their break-up started doing the rounds following a cryptic post by Ananya on Instagram last month.

“If it is truly meant for you, it will come back to you, it will leave only for the sake of teaching you the lessons you could only learn on your own. If it is truly meant for you, it will return even if you’ve pushed it away, even if you’re in denial, even if you assume something so beautiful could never be truly yours – because if it’s truly meant for you, it is never not a piece of you. It is never not intricately tied into the depths of your soul,” read the post on her Instagram Stories.

People are free to make their own interpretations, but they have also noticed photos of Ananya and Aditya sharing a hug from a recent event in Mumbai.

The images which surfaced on Reddit left their fans wondering whether they have actually split.

Last year, the actress had called herself Ananya ‘Coy Kapur’ during an episode of Karan Johar’s chat show ‘Koffee With Karan’.
