Bar Girl Found Dead In Rented House In Odisha Capital, Family Alleges Murder
Bhubaneswar: A 22-year-old girl, who was working in a bar, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in her rented house under Badagada police limits in Odisha capital.
The deceased has been identified as Sulochana Das from Alana village in Tirtol of Jagatsinghpur district.
According to sources, Sulochana was living in the rented house with her male friend Nihar Giri. On Friday afternoon, Nihar reportedly called her elder sister and informed her about Sulochana’s death.
Sulochana was reportedly found hanging with a dupatta from one wing of ceiling fan. But her sister alleged that she was murdered. “She (Sulochana) was found hanging in her room while the doors were open and her knees and feet were bent. The dupatta was tied loosely to only one wing of the ceiling fan. It did not look as if she had committed suicide. She was murdered,” she told the media.
She further informed that Sulochana was in a relationship with Nihar who had promised to marry her. “Though they were living together, she was regularly beaten up by him. Yesterday, Nihar called me at noon and said he had found Sulochana dead in the morning. If it is not a murder and he found her dead in the morning, why didn’t he call me immediately,” she said.
The Commissionerate Police has registered a case after Sulochana’s family lodged a complaint and started investigation. The police have also launched a manhunt to trace Nihar who is absconding.
