Pune: Three days after a horrific Porsche crash, the entire country is still talking about the 17-year-old boy whose rash and illegal driving killed two motorcycle-borne IT professionals and how he received bail within 14 hours with some laughable conditions like writing a 300-word essay.
As the victims’ parents demand justice, the teenaged driver’s father Vishal Agarwal – who is a real estate developer – was sent to police custody till May 24 by a Pune court on Wednesday.
The boy has been barred from obtaining a driving licence till he turns 25, Maharashtra Transport Commissioner Vivek Bhimanwar said.
State transport officials also said that permanent registration of the Porsche Taycan sports car was pending since March since the owner did not pay a fee of Rs 1,758.
The teenaged driver was also produced before a juvenile court on Wednesday after a new case was registered against him under section 185 for driving under influence of alcohol.
On Sunday, a case of culpable homicide under section 304 was filed against the boy, but the court granted him bail the same day on grounds that he was a minor.
Police have seized a bill of Rs 48,000 from a bar where the minor had gone before the accident .
