Fresh Encounter With Terrorists In Jammu & Kashmir, After 4th Attack In 2 Days
Jammu: Within 24 hours of two terror attacks in the Kathua and Doda districts of Jammu & Kashmir, a fresh encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in Doda on Wednesday evening.
The latest encounter, fourth since Monday, is taking place in the Gandoh Bhalessa area of Doda district. Indian security forces responded after terrorists started firing at Kota Top checkpost after sunset.
One Special Task Force (STF) jawan has been injured as per latest reports.
With a fierce gunfight still underway, additional troops have been rushed to the site.
A CRPF jawan was killed and six security personnel injured in the overnight encounters which were triggered by an attack on a military checkpost in the upper reaches of Chattergalla, on the Bhaderwah-Pathankot road, late on Tuesday night.
Traffic movement has been completely suspended on the busy Bhadarwah-Pathankot interstate highway due to the ongoing search and cordon operation in Chattergalla, Guldandi, Sarthal, Shankh Pader and Kailash mountain range.
ADGP Anand Jain told PTI that the ‘hostile’ neighbour is always making attempts to disturb peace in the Jammu region, obviously referring to Pakistan.
