Heading To Accident Site? Social Media Users Ask Ashwini Vaishnaw As Goods Train Derails In UP

Bhubaneswar: After at least 7 coaches of a goods train derailed in Amroha yard of UP’s Moradabad district on Saturday, social media turned the spotlight on Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

From mocking his photographs clicked at accident sites to dubbing him as the ‘reel’ minister, Vaishnaw faced criticism for the back-to-back train accidents.

Not just parody accounts, but blue-ticked users also posted sarcastic remarks against the Railway minister. “UNESCO declares Ashwini Vaishnaw as the first Railway Minister to have 4 derailments in 4 days. Big moment for India,” wrote an user, who identified himself as Akshit, on X.

Another blue-ticked user, Amockxi FC, wrote: “BIG BREAKING 🚨 RECORD ALERT Ashwini Vaishnaw becomes first Indian Railway Minister under whom Trains created hat-trick of derailment 18th July : Gonda, UP train derailed 19th July : Valsad, Gujarat train derailed 20th July : Amroha, UP train derailed. This man is making sure BJP stays below 180 seats in 2029 LS. Absolute mediocre and incompetent minister.”

Several users posted comments like ‘another day, another derailment’ or ‘another day, another story. Soon after the Kerala unit of Congress had shared a screenshot of Vaishnaw’s previous post and asked him to pin the ‘heading to accident site’ tweet, several users made similar attacks.

An user by the name of Srinivas, wrote: “@Ashwini Vaishnaw response will be like this ‘Heading to accident site’ with photo on bike or scooter.”

“Every time you’re heading to the accident site. what is the prevention to stop these accidents as you have been 10+ years in the chair @AshwiniVaishnaw?,” asked another user.
