Vigilance Seizes Rs 1.3 Lakh ‘Ill-Gotten’ Money From MVI In Odisha’s Khurda
Bhubaneswar: Vigilance officials nabbed a motor vehicle inspector (MVI) while he was going with Rs 1.32 lakh ill-gotten money from Khurda in Odisha on Saturday.
Based on reliable information, a team of Vigilance officials intercepted Bijay Kumar Behuria, MVI, Nuapada, near Khurda Hospital Square, while he was proceeding to Bhubaneswar from Nuapada in a private vehicle.
The Vigilance team found Rs 1.32 lakh in cash from his possession. He was suspected to have collected through unfair means as PC from different sources.
As Behuria could not explain satisfactorily about the source of the cash, the entire money was recovered from him and seized. Besides, the private vehicle was also seized.
Following the interception, the Vigilance carried out search at 5 locations linked to Behuria from DA angle. He was also being questioned to ascertain the source of funds, a press release of Vigilance stated.
