Odisha CM Presents 100 Days’ Report Card Of BJP Govt; Claims All Promises Met In Time-Bound Manner

Puri: As the BJP government in Odisha completed 100 days, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday asserted that promises made in the party’s election manifesto have been fulfilled in a time-bound manner.

Presenting the report of the first 100 days in office at a special event in Puri, the Chief Minister said that the government is fully committed to fulfilling the aspirations of the people while marching towards making ‘Viksit Odisha’ by 2036.

Noting that the state government took prompt steps to open four gates of the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri and the Ratna Bhandar of the 12th century shrine, Majhi said a corpus fund of Rs 500 crore has been created to ensure proper management of Jagannath Temple. Similarly, Rs 200 crore has been earmarked for the protection of Odia Asmita.

Speaking at the special event held at Sharadhabali in the pilgrim town, the CM said that the government also launched Subhadra Yojana to provide financial support to women as promised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Significantly, the BJP government has launched tough measures against corruption in the state, Majhi said, adding that altogether 71 corruption cases were registered in just 100 days and 58 government officials, including 17 Class I and Seven Class II officers, arrested.

Claiming that the people of Odisha voted the BJP to power after being betrayed by the previous BJD regime for 24 years, the Chief Minister said the state now has a people’s government focussing on people’s hopes and aspirations.

Lamenting that people’s grievances were not being heard by the previous government, he said his government is now regularly hearing the grievances of people. Plans are also afoot to hold grievances cell sessions in western, southern and northern parts of the state and listen to people’s problems, he said.

While a provision of Rs 5,000 crore has been made in the budget to procure paddy at Rs 3,100 per quintal from farmers, support under CM Kisan Yojana will be provided to peasants soon, he said.

Eligible farmers, who were deprived of getting support will now get support under CM Kisan Yojana. A portal has been launched for this purpose.

Stating that the government has ambitious plans to create an industrial corridor, the Chief Minister said three semiconductor units are going to be set up in the state soon.

The government has already taken steps for establishment of FDI Parks and 11 MSME Parks to accelerate economic growth of the state and provide employment to youth.

An Awas Plus portal has already been made operational to provide free houses to all eligible people under the Prime Minister Awas Yojana, he said.

This apart, a total of 800 PM Shree houses will be established and government schools will be made centres of excellence.

The CM further stated that the Ayusman Bharat Yojana will soon be introduced to provide healthcare support to the people. The already launched Gopabandhu Arogya Yojna will be a milestone in providing financial support to people in the treatment of life-threatening diseases, said Majhi.
