Vijayta’s Appeal To Shah Rukh: ‘My Son Needs Your Help, You Had Promised Aadesh, This Is The Time’

Mumbai: Remember Vijayta Pandit? Yes, the younger sister of Sulakshana Pandit who burst into Bollywood with the popular 1981 film ‘Love Story’, which had Kumar Gaurav as her co-star and superhit songs like ‘Teri Yaad Aa Rahi Hai’ and ‘Dekho Maine Dekha Hai Ye Ek Sapna’.

Having quit acting after getting married to music composer the late Aadesh Shrivastava, Vijayta focused on playback singing.

Now 57, Vijayta recently made an open appeal to Shah Rukh Khan to help her son Anivesh Shrivastava in the absence of Aadesh who passed away in 2015.

Lamenting that Anivesh is not getting the support or direction he ‘needs and deserves’ from the industry, Vijayta urged those from the fraternity to help her son now that his dad isn’t there to guide him.

Vijayta said that the Bollywood Badshah had made a commitment to her dying husband about helping Anivesh, but she can’t reach Shah Rukh.

“One day before he died, Aadesh held Shah Rukh’s hand when he could not even talk, and gestured pointing towards our son that he should look after him. Today, I am just not able to contact Shah Rukh… the number that was given to my son is not working,” Vijayta said in interview with Lehren Retro.

“I just want to remind Shah Rukh that he was a good friend of Aadesh’s, and this is the time we need you. I need you for my son because he is my and our family’s future. I am not earning, I am not doing anything,” pleaded Vijayta.

Vijayta felt that her brothers, music composer duo Jatin and Lalit, contributed significantly to Shah Rukh’s success by creating several hit songs for his movies, and hence he should take the initiative to support the family.

“I want to remind Shah Rukh that this is the time to come and help my son. He just needs a little push. Shah Rukh is a very sweet man, he came twice to see Aadesh in the last stages of his cancer. Since he had promised, I want to ask him to help my son… he needs you. He does not have a father. Aadesh made you promise that so you have to do something,” Vijayta said.
