Delhi Family’s Death: Video Shows Dad May Have Bought Sweets Laced With Poison For Himself, 4 Daughters

New Delhi: The death of all members of a family, comprising five individuals, at their home in southwest Delhi has left everyone shocked in the national capital. According to reports, the police suspect that either all of them committed suicide or the father might have killed his four daughters before committing suicide himself.

A CCTV footage showing the 46-year-old man purportedly carrying sweets days before he and his daughters were found dead at their home has gone viral on social media. The video shows the man walking with a large bag around 7 pm. Police believe he was carrying a box of sweets.

The date on the footage is September 24. According to locals—as reported by media—it was the same day when neighbours apparently saw the family for the last time. After preliminary investigation, cops said it was likely that the man bought the sweets, and then laced those with poison.

The bodies were recovered after neighbours reported a foul smell emanating from their third-floor flat. Police found the door bolted from the inside. They also recovered a box of sweets, pesticide, and a suspicious liquid. There were no external injuries on the bodies, reported the Hindustan Times.

“The father was found lying on a cot in the first room. There was blood near his mouth,” a police official said, as quoted by Hindustan Times.

It was claimed that the family was facing a financial strain. Probe is underway.
