Mumbai: Ranveer Singh, who became a father last month, is now in the news for the wrong reasons.

According to a report in Peeping Moon, the Bollywood star will be seen romancing teenager Sara Arjun in his upcoming film.

The pairing of 39-year old Ranveer with a 19-year-old has not gone well with his fans and movie buffs.

As soon as the news was shared on social media, netizens started trolling Ranveer.

Referring to Ranveer’s debut film, one user wrote, “She (Sara) was 5 years old when band baaja baarat released.”

“39-year-old romancing a teenager!?? How did they think this was ok,” commented another.

There were some who defended Ranveer, saying that it’s the makers who should be blamed for casting a 19-year-old opposite Ranveer.

“Ranveer didn’t choose her as heroine .. So no need to demonise him,” wrote a fan.

“Don’t deepika and anushka both have 20+ age gap with srk and they both debuted when they were around 19-20 age,” remarked another Ranveer fan.

Sara has worked as a child actor for many projects in the south. She gained popularity after portraying the character of young Aishwarya Rai in ‘Ponniyin Selvan.’

While Sara’s role is said to be relatively small in this male-dominated Ranveer Singh starrer, it will mark her transition from a child actress to a lead heroine.

However, there has been no official confirmation about lead heroine from the filmmakers.

Helmed by Aditya Dhar, this Ranveer Singh movie will also have Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal in pivotal roles.
