Another Migrant Worker Shot At By Militants In J&K; Third Attack In A Week

Jammu: Days after an attack on migrant workers at a construction site in the Sonamarg area in the Ganderbal district in Jammu and Kashmir, a teenager from Uttar Pradesh sustained injuries after a similar attack by militants in the Union Territory’s Tral district on Thursday morning. This is the third such attack on migrant workers in Kashmir within a week.

The teenager, who suffered bullet injuries, has been identified as Shubam Kumar (19) of Bijnor. Militants, according to reports, shot at him in Batagund village in Tral. His condition is stable as he is undergoing treatment at a hospital.

Last week, seven people, including a doctor and six migrant workers, were killed after terrorists opened fire at them in Ganderbal district. They were part of a construction team working on the Z-Morh tunnel, which connects Gaganeer to Sonamarg.

After the attack, reports stated that The Resistance Front, an offshoot of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba, claimed responsibility for the attack.

On October 18, terrorists killed Ashok Chauhan, another worker from Bihar, in the Shopian district. His body, riddled with bullets, was found in the Waduna area of Zainapora by the locals, reports claimed.
