Mumbai: Days ahead of its release, Rohit Shetty’s much-awaited multi-starrer cop flick ‘Singham Again’ underwent several changes.
Before giving a U/A certificate to the film on Monday, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) suggested several cuts and modifications in the film, reported Bollywood Hungama.
The CBFC chopped off nearly 7.12 minutes of footage from the film, which included several dialogues and scenes making a reference to the Hindu epic Ramayana and Constitution of India.
Some of the suggested changes are as follows:
- Arjun Kapoor’s dialogue in which he compares himself to Ravan has been censored.
- A 23-second-long scene where Singham (Ajay Devgn) is seen touching the feet of Lord Rama has been modified.
- A 16-second-long scene where Ravan is seen grabbing Sita has been deleted.
- A 26-second-long dialogue and visuals, citing India’s ‘international diplomatic relations with the neighbouring state’, deleted and suitably modified.
- A 29-second-long scene where Lord Hanuman is burning Lanka, and a dialogue showing Simmba flirting has been removed.
- Kareena’s dialogues, colour of the religious flag used in the movie have been suitably modified.
- Visuals of Constitutional head at two places & ‘Shiv Strota’ from the background score have been deleted.
- A violent murder scene showing a man being beheaded inside a police station has been blurred.
The ‘Singham Again’ makers have agreed to the suggested changes, the report added.
The movie is the third installment of Rohit Shetty’s blockbuster franchise ‘Singham.’ Starring Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Akshay Kumar in pivotal roles, the film is slated to hit theatres this Diwali on November 1.
The film is also making waves for Salman Khan’s cameo as Chulbul Pandey.
