Cuttack: Badambadi police have arrested six persons, including a minor, for allegedly gangraping and blackmailing a college girl with obscene videos.
Among the accused, three belong to Jhanjirmangala, one to Barang, and another two to Nayagarh.
According to sources, a 19-year-old student was invited by her male friend, Ashutosh, to celebrate her birthday at a cafe in Purighat area here during Durga Puja holiday. He then established physical relation with her, which was allegedly secretly filmed by his friends.
The accused later used the video to blackmail the girl and force her to have physical intimacy with his friends. She was also gangraped in a house in Barang area, which they also recorded and continued to blackmail her.
The entire incident came to light after a relative of the girl spotted her with the accused near Balikuda Square. On being questioned, she disclosed her plight.
Besides arresting the six, Badambadi police have recovered the videos from their mobile phones and the devices sent to the State Forensic Science Laboratory in Bhubaneswar for examination. Their chat messages also revealed how she was being coerced.
