Condemning the attack at the actor’s residence, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Sunday directed state DGP and the city police commissioner to be stern in maintaining law and order in the state.

“I condemn the attack on the homes of film celebrities. I am directing the State DGP and City Police Commissioner to take strict action regarding law and order. No laxity will be tolerated in this regard. Senior officials should take precautions to prevent police personnel who are not involved in the Sandhya Theatre incident from responding,” he posted on X.

On Sunday evening, six people, claiming to be members of Osmania University – Joint Action Committee (OU-JAC), destroyed flower pots and hurled tomatoes at the ‘Pushpa’ actor’s residence. They were later taken into custody but released on bail this morning on the condition that each individual provides two sureties of Rs 10,000.

Meanwhile, the opposition parties in the state attacked the ruling Congress over the attack at the actor’s residence. BJP Lok Sabha member D K Aruna alleged that out of the six miscreants, accused of vandalism, four belonged to Kodangal, the Assembly constituency of the CM.

BRS MLA T Harish Rao stated that the stone-pelting incident at Allu Arjun’s residence was “shocking” and a “complete failure of governance”. He also stated that over 35,944 crime cases have been reported in Hyderabad in 2024 during the governance of the ruling congress.

The ruling Congress has, however, denied the allegations. “None of them belong to Congress. If they find any Congress link, those workers will stand disqualified,” Congress spokesperson Sama Ram Mohan Reddy told NDTV.
