Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government will bring new laws to facilitate sale of land in parts without any legal and procedural constraints.
This was stated by Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari while speaking to media persons in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday. The new rules for part sale of plots are most likely to be brought next year, he added.
He said he final meeting on resolving the issue would be held on December 31 and then new rules would be released by the government.
“If necessary, the RERA Act and the Orissa Development Authorities Act will be amended. The RERA Committee was earlier directed to suggest its solutions on the matter,” he added.
The owners of a large chunk of land normally sell it in parts as they fail to find any buyer for the entire plot at a very high cost. But they run into different bottlenecks in the process. Besides, irregular plotting of the land poses problems for civic authorities to provide facilities including roads, sewarage and power supply.
Meanwhile, the government has identified 31 District Registrars and Sub-Registrars who had registered part plots illegally. Those land deals would be investigated, the minister said.
