Keonjhar: After returning from Delhi, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi embarked on a three-day visit to his home district Keonjhar on Tuesday.
The visit coincides with Makar Sankranti celebrations.
After arriving at Raisuan airstrip by a special aircraft, he took a holy dip in the Baitarani river at Anasuya Ghat in Patna, where elaborate arrangements were made to welcome the CM with traditional fanfare. He then offered prayers at Parameswar Temple
Following a brief rest at the circuit house here, the CM would inaugurate a bridge in Jhumpura block. He will then visit his native village Raikala and return to Keonjhar for an overnight stay.

On Wednesday, Majhi is scheduled to launch the social security pension scheme at Dharanidhar University ground. His itinerary also includes a visit to Barbil, where he will inaugurate a prayer mandap at Saraswati Shishu Vidyamandir and attend the silver jubilee celebrations of the Barbil festival.
He is scheduled to depart for Bhubaneswar from Raisuan airstrip at 10.55 am on Thursday.
The CM was in Delhi for two days during which the National Health Authority (NHA) signed an MoU with the Odisha government to implement Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) in convergence with the state’s Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana Scheme (GJAY).
