Bhubaneswar: Banks will conduct a drive on January 29-30 to address failure of NPCI pertaining to Subhadra Yojana beneficiaries, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida told a presser on Tuesday.
“To reactive the NPCI, the eligible beneficiaries who are yet to receive Subhadra money have to visit the banks in which they have an account on these days. They will receive the amount during four-phase disbursement of the first instalment,” she said.
National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) is an umbrella organisation set up with the guidance & support of RBI & IBA for all retail payments in India.
The Deputy CM, who also holds the Women and Child Welfare portfolio, added that NPCI failure was seen in 3,31,188 cases. A message on NPCI failure will also be mentioned in the official website, she said.
“The government is trying to go door-to-door to provide financial assistance under the Subhadra Yojana. However, NPCI failure is a matter between the banks and the customers. Hence, we have requested the banks to allot two days for it. Those beneficiaries who will get calls and messages need to visit the banks,” she said.
Parida further stated that 1,0723,294 women have registered under the scheme and so far around Rs 80.29 lakh have been disbursed among those eligible. There are around 1.55 lakh pending e-KYC cases, she added.
