After Sudden Fall, Night Temp In Odisha To Rise By 2-3°C From Tomorrow; Rain Predicted Next Week

Bhubaneswar: After sharp fall in last two days, night temperature is likely to rise again in most parts of Odisha after 24 hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Saturday.

Minimum temperature fell by about 2-4°C at some places during the last 24 hours and it was markedly below normal by about 5°C at one or two places over the districts of interior Odisha, it said.

The highest maximum temperature of 34.7°C was recorded at Angul and the lowest minimum temperature of 9.5°C was recorded at Phulbani in the plains. G Udayagiri, a hill station in Kandhamal, recorded 7.1 degree Celsius.

State capital Bhubaneswar recorded 17.1 degree Celsius, while the minimum temperature in Cuttack was recorded at 17 degree Celsius during the last 24 hours.

The weather agency predicted that there would be no large change in minimum temperature (night temperature) during next 24 hours. Thereafter, there will be a gradual rise by 2-3 degree Celsius during next four days in the state.

Yellow warning of dense fog was issued for one or two places of Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Khurda, Cuttack, Sundargarh, Nayagarh, and Ganjam districts by Sunday morning.

Light to moderate rain is likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Puri, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, and Sundargarh between the morning of February 20 and 21.

Similarly, light to moderate rain may occur at one or two places of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhargarh, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Ganjam, Gajapati, Cuttack, and Khurda the next day.
