Mumbai: Actress Sushmita Sen, during a recent Instagram Live session with fans, spoke candidly about her plan to get married.
When one of her followers asked the former Miss Universe about her wedding plans, Sushmita shared that she definitely wants to get married, but is unable to find the right partner.
“I also want to get married. Milna chahiye na koi shaadi karne layek. Aise thodi hoti hai shaadi. Kehte hai na, bohot romantic way mein toh dil ka rishta hota hai. Dil tak baat toh pahunchni chahiye na. Shaadi bhi kar lenge.” (There should be someone worthy of marriage, right? Marriage doesn’t just happen like that. As they say in a very romantic way, it’s a bond of the heart. The feeling should reach the heart, right? Then I’ll get married too.),” she said.
For those who are unaware, after breaking up with Rohman Shawl, Sushmita dated Lalit Modi, IPL founder and its former chairman.
In 2022, Modi shared a series of pictures from their Maldives and Sardinia vacations, referring to Sushmita as his “better half.”
However, their relationship was short-lived, and rumours of their breakup started doing the rounds when Modi removed the actress’ name from his bio and changed his profile picture.
In 2023, during an interview with Mid-Day, Sushmita addressed their short-lived relationship as “just another phase.”
Recently, on Valentine’s Day, introducing his new partner on social media, Modi wrote, “Lucky Once – Yes. But I got lucky TWICE. When a 25-year friendship turns to LOVE. It happened twice. Hope it does for you all too. #happyvalentinesday to you all.”
Sushmita was earlier in a relationship with Rohman, whom she met on Instagram. They dated from 2018 to 2021, announcing their separation on social media in December 2021. However, the two of them continue to be friends and are often spotted together at events.
