Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government will conduct a door-to-door survey to identify eligible beneficiaries, who may have been left out of Subhadra Yojana after March 31, the last date for submitting applications under the scheme in 2024-25.

Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida said that officials would carry out one-on-one surveys by visiting households to ensure that no deserving beneficiary is left out of the fund transfer scheme, for not being able to not apply within the stipulated time. “The application process will remain suspended during verification of the applications to ensure that none eligible under the scheme is left out of benefits of scheme,” she said.

Parida, who also holds the Women and Child Development portfolio, further informed that the government has received 1.85 lakh applications and the first instalment of Rs 5000 under the scheme has so far been disbursed to around 98 lakh women in four phases since its launch.

“We will cross 1 crore-mark tomorrow when the first instalment of the money will be transferred to the accounts of the beneficiaries in the fifth phase. We will be able to provide the first two instalment of the money to around 1.2 crore women. While disbursing the third instalment, those left out of the scheme will receive three-phase money amounting to Rs 15,000 at one go on the auspicious occasion Rakhi Purnima this year,” she said.

The second instalment of money under Subhadra Yojana will be released on March 8.

The Odisha government has allocated Rs 55825 crore for a period of 5 years for this scheme to promote women empowerment across the state.

Meanwhile, ‘Subhadra Rally’ is being taken out at 6,794 different locations throughout the state, seeking to spread awareness about scheme while engaging the public, particularly women, through educational activities and informative outreach efforts. “This initiative will continue till March 8 and take the administration to the doorsteps of the people of the state. There will be competition among Anganwadi workers,” Parida added.
