Mumbai: Filmmaker Boney Kapoor has announced a sequel to Sridevi’s ‘Mom’, starring daughter Khushi Kapoor.
Speaking to paparazzi at the green carpet of IIFA 2025 on Sunday, Boney said that his daughters Khushi and Janhvi are following their mother, and embracing versatility.
The filmmaker said he has watched Khushi’s movies and is planning to make a film with her soon, and it could be ‘Mom 2.’
“I have watched all of Khushi’s films. ‘Archies’, ‘Loveyappa’ and ‘Nadaaniyaan’. I am planning a film with her too after ‘No Entry’. It would be a movie with Khushi. It could be ‘Mom 2’. She is trying to follow in the footsteps of her mother. Her mother was the top star in all the languages she worked in. I hope Khushi and Janhvi succeeded in this same level of perfection,” Boney said.
Directed by Ravi Udyawar, Sridevi’s ‘Mom’ — released in 2017 — revolves around a mother seeking justice for her daughter.
Sridevi’s performance in the movie struck an emotional chord with the audience and impressed critics. She bagged the National Award for Best Actress for the role.
Khushi’s recent outing ‘Nadaaniyan’, along with Ibrahim Ali Khan, is streaming on Netflix.
Produced by Dharmatic Entertainment, the film revolves around the love story of a South Delhi socialite and a determined, middle-class overachiever.
