Bhubaneswar: Thunderstorm coupled with lightning is likely to hit at least six districts of Odisha on Saturday afternoon, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in a nowcast warning.
Issuing a yellow warning at 2.20 pm, the weather agency said Ganjam, Koraput, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Cuttack and Nayagarh districts are likely to experience thunderstorms and lightning in the next three hours. These districts have been issued a yellow warning.

People have been advised to keep a close watch on the weather and move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes. Besides, the weather office has asked residents of these districts take necessary precautions to avoid injury from gusty winds.
