New Delhi: India is leaving no stone unturned to hunt down and punish the terrorists who shot dead 26 innocent civilians at Pahalgam, on April 22.

Pakistan, on the other hand, continues to provoke India through LoC violations, brazen comments by politicians and cyber acts.

Since the deadly massacre at Baisaran valley, near Pahalgam, 10 days ago, there has been a rise in attempts to hack Indian websites by Pakistan-based cyber criminals.

Among the targeted are Army Public School (APS) Srinagar, APS Ranikhet, the Army Welfare Housing Organisation (AWHO) database, and Indian Air Force Placement Organisation portal.

The hackers, operating as ‘IOK Hacker’, tried to deface the websites, disrupt services with a denial-of-service assault on APS Srinagar, and access personal information.

The groups, identified as ‘Cyber Group HOAX1337’ and ‘National Cyber Crew’, also attempted to deface websites of APS Nagrota and Sunjuwan with inflammatory content mocking victims of the recent Pahalgam terror attack.

A Pakistan flag was visible in the centre of the website pages, with ‘SITE HACKED’ message and a person with a Guy Fawkes mask pointing a finger at the viewer.

Swift Response

Indian cybersecurity agencies have been up to the task and acted swiftly. They detected and traced the intrusions to Pakistan, and all affected sites were isolated, restored, without any operational or classified network being compromised, NDTV reported quoting a cybersecurity official.

“The Indian Army continues to strengthen its cyber defences to protect its digital infrastructure and personnel welfare,” the official added.

The website of the Army College of Nursing was hacked, allegedly by a Pakistan-based hacker group called Team Insane PK, which left a provocative message about the two-nation theory.

Pakistani hackers also targeted three Rajasthan government websites and defaced them with anti-India messages.
