Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange warning for five districts in Odisha till 6 pm on Friday.
Moderate thunderstorm/lightning with gusty wind speed reaching 40-60 kmph and moderate rain may occur in some parts of Mayurbhanj, Cuttack, Jajpur, Koraput, and Jagatsinghpur during this period.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and move to safer places accordingly.
Yellow warning of thunderstorm/lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph has also been sounded for Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati,Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput and Malkangiri till 8.30 am on Saturday.
