Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance on Thursday arrested Chief Civil Supplies Officer (CCSO)-cum-District Manager of Odisha State Civil Supply Corporation Ltd (OSCSL) in Ganjam’s Chhatrapur, Pusha Munda, over Rs 3 lakh unaccounted cash.
Munda was intercepted by a team of Odisha Vigilance on NH-16 near Chhatrapur Science College while he was on his way to Berhampur from his rented house in his office vehicle on Wednesday, leading to recovery of the suspected ill-gotten cash which he could not account for satisfactorily.
The cash along with the vehicle was seized. This was followed by simultaneous searches at his rented house and office chamber at Chhatrapur and residence at Bhawanipatna. The Vigilance teams unearthed a three-storey building over 5000 sqft area and a homestead plot in Bhawanipatna town, a big patch of land, comprising 10 plots over an area of 19 acres purchased by Munda in 2023, a four-wheeler, two two-wheelers and another two-wheeler registered in the name of a local rice miller, during the raids.
A case has been registered against him under Sections 13(2) r/w 13(1)(b) of Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018, and further investigation is underway.
