Balasore: Three labourers died and two others sustained critical injuries after being hit by lightning strike while eating lunch near a canal construction site in Odisha’s Balasore district on Saturday.
According to sources, the incident took place in Chatrapur area under the jurisdiction of Berhampur police station in the district when five labourers working on a canal project were having lunch.

As an intense lightning strike hit the area, three workers, including two women, died instantly at the spot.
The remaining two women workers sustained critical injuries and were immediately rushed to a hospital at Nilagiri. One of them was stated to be in a highly critical condition.
