Bhubaneswar: A contractual labourer died after the umbrella of a push trolley got entangled with a wagon of a goods train in Rayagard yard in Odisha on Thursday morning.
Confirming the incident, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) said that the labourer died after getting hit by the goods train. Another labourer and the trolley man sustained minor injuries. “They have been admitted at a nearby hospital and will be discharged after due medical attention,” the release said.
The trolley was between Line No 4 and 5 at the yard and not on any track, the ECoR clarified.
It added that senior railway officials visited the site immediately to conduct an inquiry into the incident and suitable compensation is being provided by the contractor.
