Mumbai: Salman Khan’s last outing ‘Sikandar’ failed to impress moviegoers, who felt that the actor should have worked harder and taken up a good script.
Salman’s upcoming project, a war drama titled ‘Battle Of Galwan’, is an intense action film, shot in high altitudes and cold weather.
Opening up about his preparation for the film, Salman said it is physically very challenging and very difficult to shoot in the biting cold weather and water.
“It is physically demanding. Every year, every month, every day it gets more and more difficult. I’ve to give more time now. Earlier, I would do it in one or two weeks, now I’m running, kicking, punching, and all that stuff. This film demands that,” Salman was quoted as saying by PTI.
“For instance, in ‘Sikandar’ the action was different, the character was different. But this is physically difficult. Besides, shooting in Ladakh, in high altitude and in cold water,” he added.
The actor shared that his team will be heading to Ladakh later this month for the shoot.
“When I was signing the film, I thought it’s amazing but it’s a very, very difficult film to do. I’ve 20 days in Ladakh and then seven to eight days in cold water. We will be shooting this month,” he said.
Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, the war drama is based on the 2020 Galwan Valley conflict between Indian and Chinese troops, fought at over 15,000 feet above sea level without a single bullet being fired.
Unlike other Salman Khan films, ‘Battle of Galwan’ will not be released on Eid, but is slated to hit theatres in January.
Salman also confirmed that a sequel to his 2015 blockbuster movie ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ is in the works.
“I liked that movie. It will kind of have the same theme and emotional beat. But it will be a different film,” Salman said.
